OpenAI Officially Releases ChatGPT Search for All Users
Jakarta - OpenAI has officially introduced ChatGPT Search for all free users, following its exclusive launch in October 2024 for paid subscribers under the name SearchGPT.
According to reports from Gizchina, ChatGPT Search is designed to facilitate quick and accurate information retrieval. In addition to providing up-to-date answers, this feature includes links to reliable sources, merging the convenience of a chatbot with the reliability of a search engine.
Kevin Weil, OpenAI's Chief Product Officer, noted that real-time web access enhances the utility of ChatGPT for various purposes, including travel planning and current news searches. This update emphasizes reputable links in search results.
For example, searches related to movies or hotels will feature links to Netflix or trusted booking sites at the top, followed by a detailed summary from ChatGPT.
Voice Search
One of the standout features in this update is voice search. Users with advanced voice mode can activate this feature by tapping a wave-shaped button on the input bar.
The voice search feature allows users to ask questions without typing, making it ideal for situations like gathering information while on the go. ChatGPT's voice assistant offers responses in up to 10 different voice styles, enhancing personalization and flexibility in interactions.
Mobile users also enjoy additional benefits. The ChatGPT app on iOS and Android is now integrated with Apple Maps and Google Maps. For instance, searching for nearby restaurants can directly display results in your map application for easier navigation.
ChatGPT Search is now accessible to all users via the app and website. The advanced voice search feature will roll out gradually over the coming weeks.
