Elon Musk Launches Grok 3, the Latest Version of AI Chatbot
xAI, the American artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk in 2023, will launch Grok 3 today. This is the latest version of its chatbot which the tech billionaire claims is the "smartest AI on the planet."
This achievement marks a significant step forward, with improvements in reasoning, computing power, and adaptability, according to reports.
The development of Grok 3 was expedited by its Colossus supercomputer, which was built in just eight months, stated the San Francisco-based company.
This substantial increase in computational resources has enabled Grok 3 to process large datasets more efficiently, reducing training times and enhancing accuracy, experts say.
Additionally, the model now incorporates synthetic datasets, self-correction mechanisms, and reinforcement learning to further improve its performance.
The product will be launched live with a demonstration today, as Musk announced the day before in a post on X. He previously teased the event during a videoconference at the World Government Summit in Dubai last Thursday, calling it an AI model that would surpass all existing competitive tools.
Grok 3 arrives at a time when countries are rushing to introduce more sophisticated and cost-effective AI chatbots. This includes Chinese startup DeepSeek, which has astounded the markets with a model on par with OpenAI's ChatGPT, rapidly expanding its reach.
There’s also ongoing contention between Musk and Sam Altman, who co-founded OpenAI together in 2015 as a nonprofit. Altman recently rejected a potentially significant deal, informing Musk's investor group that the parent company of ChatGPT is not for sale.
