Microsoft is making significant changes to its Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions. Subscribers of these plans will soon have greater access to artificial intelligence features integrated into Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook. With the introduction of the new Copilot button, users will be able to receive assistance for various tasks such as writing documents, analyzing data in spreadsheets, summarizing emails, and creating presentations.

Furthermore, subscribers will gain access to the AI-powered Microsoft Designer app, which has the capability to create images from prompts and perform object editing on existing photos. This enhancement will be part of the latest Microsoft 365 update, which will also be accompanied by a price increase that raises subscription costs by a minimum of 30%.

The price adjustments for the Family plan will see a 30% increase from $10 to $13 monthly. For an annual subscription, the fee will rise from $100 to $130. Personal subscribers are facing a steeper hike of nearly 43%, with monthly costs changing from $7 to $10, and annual rates increasing from $70 to $100.

These new prices will take effect at the next renewal period for existing subscribers.

Global Rollout and User Feedback

The rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot follows months of testing in specific regions, including Australia, New Zealand, and several Southeast Asian countries. Microsoft has committed to listening to user feedback from these regions to refine their offerings.
