Graduating in 2005 with a degree in Information Technology, Sriram's impressive journey from a talented student at SRM to a prominent figure in shaping global AI policy makes the university immensely proud. Upon arriving at SRM, Sriram was initially unfamiliar with computers and programming. However, his natural curiosity and determination propelled him toward rapid advancement. By his second year, Sriram was recognized as one of the top students in his class, standing out with his understanding of emerging technologies. He was an early adopter of Python programming, demonstrating his ability to embrace new concepts ahead of time. This proactive approach to technology and problem-solving underscored his forward-thinking mindset.
Sriram's impact at SRM extended beyond academics. In his third year, he established and organized “Cressida-2K4,” a widely celebrated technical quiz competition hosted by the university's student club. Sriram's careful planning, inventive question formats, and flawless execution of the competition received admiration from both students and faculty, leaving a lasting impression on SRM’s tech culture. After graduating, Sriram embarked on a distinguished career with some of the leading technology firms worldwide. His professional journey included key roles at Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo!, Facebook, and Snapchat, where he played a significant role in developing and scaling innovative products and technologies. His diverse experience in both technical and strategic positions established him as a thought leader in technology, and this unique combination of skills and vision led to his appointment as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House.
