Nvidia Announces Arrival of Rubin AI Platform in 2026

Chipmaker Nvidia has recently made an announcement that could shape the future of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The company has revealed its plans to launch an advanced AI platform named Rubin by 2026, which is anticipated to enhance AI accelerators significantly.

Expanding AI Technologies

Nvidia, already known for its robust graphics processing units (GPUs), is not stopping at its current achievements. In a move to broaden the usage of its AI technologies, the silicon giant will first introduce the Blackwell Ultra chip next year. The primary goal is to reach a broader range of sectors, including businesses and government organizations, beyond the current large-scale cloud-computing providers.

A Vigorous Push for AI Integration

Jensen Huang, Nvidia's Chief Executive, spoke about the critical importance of AI during his keynote at National Taiwan University. With a clear message, Huang emphasized the necessity for companies to adopt AI to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving marketplace. According to him, those who fail to do so may fall behind.

Huang also touched upon the concept of 'computation inflation', highlighting the escalating data processing requirements of machines. He underscored that the Rubin AI platform would incorporate HBM4, a highly anticipated high-bandwidth memory technology. However, this crucial component's availability might be a challenge, as manufacturers like SK Hynix are already facing demands that exceed their production capacity for the next year.
