Apple Introduces Visual Intelligence for iPhone 15 Pro

Published February 20, 2025

Apple has exciting news for iPhone 15 Pro users: the upcoming software update will introduce a feature called Visual Intelligence. This tool, reminiscent of Google Lens, allows users to utilize their phone's camera to identify and learn about objects in the real world. Apple representatives shared this information with John Gruber from Daring Fireball.

Visual Intelligence was first unveiled alongside Apple's iPhone 16 lineup last September. Initially, the feature could be accessed via the Camera Control button. In a recent announcement, Apple revealed that Visual Intelligence will also be available on the iPhone 16E, which lacks the Camera Control button, through its Action Button.

This development hinted that the technology could also be compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro, which is equipped with its own Action Button. Now, Apple has officially confirmed that users of the iPhone 15 Pro will have access to Visual Intelligence. The feature can be launched not only through the Action Button but also from the Control Center, enhancing convenience for users.

However, Apple has yet to disclose the specific software update that will deliver Visual Intelligence to the iPhone 15 Pro. Speculations suggest that it may arrive with the upcoming iOS 18.4 version, which is expected to enter developer beta soon and become publicly available around early April.
