HP Launches Mini PC and All-in-One Desktop with Copilot Plus AI Features

Published January 6, 2025

HP has introduced a new mini PC and an all-in-one desktop, both featuring support for Copilot Plus. Interestingly, HP has chosen not to use Qualcomm chips for these devices, opting instead for powerful processors from AMD and Intel.

New Devices with Advanced Performance

The mini PC, named the Z2 Mini G1a, is highlighted as a strong performer, boasting AMD's latest Ryzen AI Max chips. This configuration can support up to 16 CPU cores, 8TB of SSD storage, and 128GB of unified memory. Users can also allocate up to 96GB of RAM to the GPU, making it suitable for demanding graphical tasks and AI applications. The Z2 Mini G1a is capable of connecting up to four 4K monitors, showcasing its graphics prowess.

Meanwhile, HP's all-in-one desktop, called the OmniStudio X, is available in both 31.5-inch and 27-inch versions. The larger model is equipped with a 4K IPS display that supports HDR 600 and can reach a brightness of 550 nits. For those preferring a touchscreen, the 27-inch model offers a 1080p IPS display but with a maximum brightness of 300 nits. The OmniStudio X models come integrated with speakers, microphones, and a five-megapixel IR camera.

Connectivity and Features

Both the all-in-one and mini PC include a variety of connectivity options. The OmniStudio X features USB-C ports that accommodate charging and controlling laptops, as well as USB-A and HDMI ports. It also includes Wi-Fi 7 support for improved wireless connectivity.

The Z2 Mini G1a is designed for versatility, featuring a range of ports including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, and ethernet, plus additional optional ports for customization. Its compact design allows it to fit neatly into a rack, making it a flexible solution for different environments.

Despite the exciting announcement, HP has not yet disclosed when these new devices will be available for purchase or their pricing details.
