IBM and GSMA Partner to Advance AI in Telecommunications

IBM and the GSMA, a prominent global body representing a vast network of over 750 mobile operators and manufacturers, have recently unveiled their partnership aimed at fostering the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) within the telecommunications industry. This move underscores a shared commitment to prep the telecommunication sector for a future shaped significantly by AI.

Launch of AI Training Program

Central to this collaboration is the introduction of a specialized training initiative under the aegis of GSMA Advance AI and the GSMA Foundry's Generative AI program. The objective of this educational effort is to equip telecom leaders with knowledge and expertise pertinent to the AI revolution, thereby addressing the talent deficit in the telecommunications arena.

Global Reach and Accessibility

In a remarkable outreach endeavor, GSMA Advance AI training workshops will take place in 2024 at IBM offices dispersed across five strategic global hubs, including Dubai, London, Mexico City, New York, and Seoul. In addition, recognizing the necessity for inclusive learning opportunities, an online program delivered in multiple languages will ensure remote accessibility for participants worldwide.
