CES 2025: Intel Unveils New Core Ultra Series 2 Processors For AI Workloads, Edge Computing

At CES 2025, held on January 6, Intel introduced its new Core Ultra Series 2 processors, designed specifically to enhance mobile computing for a wide range of users, including businesses, creators, and gamers. These latest processors incorporate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features along with notable improvements in both efficiency and performance.

New Processors Targeting Business Needs

The Intel Core Ultra 200V series mobile processors, equipped with Intel vPro technology, are tailored for business applications. These processors help improve AI-powered productivity and IT management capabilities. The updated Intel vPro platform, combined with Microsoft Copilot+, provides enhanced security and management options for enterprises.

Processors for Creators and Gamers

For creators and gamers, Intel has launched the Core Ultra 200HX and H series mobile processors. The HX series features impressive specifications with up to 24 cores, consisting of eight Performance-cores and 16 Efficient-cores. The H series is equipped with up to 16 cores, including six P-cores, eight E-cores, and two low-power E-cores. Both series also include an integrated neural processing unit for AI tasks, while select H-series processor systems can leverage the power of Arc GPUs.

Mainstream Mobile User Options

Intel also revealed the Core Ultra 200U series mobile processors aimed at mainstream users. These processors come with up to two P-cores and eight E-cores, along with Intel X LPG graphics, making them suitable for everyday productivity tasks.

Enhanced Desktop Processors

Expanding its offerings, Intel introduced 12 new desktop processors in the Core Ultra 200S series. These come in two power variants—65-watt and 35-watt—boasting up to eight P-cores and 16 E-cores. These new desktop CPUs offer improved performance and power efficiency for gaming, content creation, and various productivity applications.

Processors for Edge Computing

In addition, Intel showcased a new range of processors tailored for edge computing, focusing on scalability and performance across diverse use cases. The Intel Core Ultra 9 series is specifically optimized for AI workloads, making it suitable for tasks such as media processing and AI analytics.

Future Developments

Lastly, Intel discussed advancements in its next-generation processor family, which will be built on the innovative Intel 18A architecture, indicating ongoing improvements in technology and capability.
