Acer Integrates AMD Processors into Swift Go Copilot Plus Laptops
Acer has introduced its latest series of ultra-thin laptops at CES 2025, featuring AMD processors in the new Swift Go 16 AI and Swift Go 14 AI Copilot Plus models. These laptops now come equipped with the powerful AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, which was a significant update, as the previous model of the Swift Go 14 Copilot Plus operated solely on a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor.
The AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor is designed with eight cores and 16 threads, offering impressive performance with a boost clock speed of up to 5.0GHz. The Swift Go AI laptops are further enhanced by a neural processing unit (NPU) that incorporates AMD’s XDNA 2 architecture, capable of delivering up to 50 TOPS, and feature AMD Radeon 800M graphics for superior visuals.
Both the Swift Go 14 AI and Swift Go 16 AI models provide users with display options that include either vibrant OLED screens boasting a 120Hz refresh rate or versatile IPS touch panels. In terms of memory, these new laptops can be configured with up to 32GB of low-power DDR5X SDRAM, alongside a 1440p HDR webcam for clear video calls. The Swift Go 14 AI stands out with an incredible video playback time of up to 24.9 hours, while the Swift Go 16 AI offers up to 18 hours.
The Swift Go 14 AI is set to launch in May at a starting price of $899.99, and the Swift Go 16 AI is expected to be available in April starting at $949.99. As a notable shift, Microsoft has been enhancing AI capabilities in its Copilot Plus PCs, now enabling features like Recall and live translation on devices powered by both AMD and Intel chips, previously exclusive to Qualcomm devices.
In addition to these Copilot Plus models, Acer also unveiled standard Swift Go laptops equipped with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285H processor and Intel Arc graphics, which will start at similar pricing to their AI counterparts.
Acer is also showcasing a new Aspire Vero 16 laptop with an emphasis on sustainability. This model boasts an “easy-to-repair” design, incorporating more than 70 percent recycled materials, including post-consumer plastics and bio-based oyster shell material. The Aspire Vero is equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor and Intel Arc graphics, and it will retail starting at $799.99 upon its launch in April.
