Zoom Introduces New Agentic AI Skills and Agents for Improved Workplace Productivity

Published March 18, 2025

Zoom has recently launched enhancements to its platform, focusing on boosting workplace productivity through new agentic AI skills and agents. These updates will be integrated across various services including Zoom Meetings, Zoom Team Chat, Zoom Docs, Zoom Phone, Zoom Whiteboard, and Zoom Contact Center, among others.

Enhanced Capabilities for User Productivity

According to Zoom, the new features are designed to deliver better results, raise productivity levels for users, and foster stronger relationships within the workplace.

AI Companion to Power Zoom Business Services

The AI Companion will introduce specialized agents that support Zoom Business Services. For instance, the Zoom Virtual Agent uses memory and reasoning skills for empathetic and contextual conversations, making it easier for customers to resolve issues through self-service.

With the introduction of AI Studio, users will also have the capability to design and implement their own customizable virtual agents, which will be available in beta later this spring. Furthermore, upcoming enhancements will see the Zoom Revenue Accelerator offering a dedicated agent for sales, aimed at improving revenue through automated insights and personalized outreach efforts.

In addition, users will soon have the opportunity to interact with third-party agents and create custom agents tailored to their specific needs, such as optimizing sales RFPs or managing service requests in IT and HR.

Organizations will also have the flexibility to customize their AI Companion through AI Studio. They will be able to create unique meeting templates, define specialized dictionaries, and integrate data from their internal sources.

New Features of AI Companion

One of the exciting developments is the Zoom Tasks feature, which will assist users in managing their responsibilities within Zoom Workplace. It will automatically identify action items in meeting summaries, chats, and emails and also facilitate tasks like scheduling follow-up meetings or drafting documents, set to launch at the end of March.

Additionally, the upcoming Meeting Agendas feature will help users maintain organization by utilizing templates or previous agendas to suggest recommended content. AI-generated live notes and a summary of action items will also be available, expected to launch in May.

Another enhancement is the AI Companion for Zoom Phone, which can generate summaries of voicemails and support calls made through Microsoft Teams, providing task prioritization from voicemail content.

A fresh voice recorder feature on the Zoom Workplace mobile app is set to launch in late March, allowing for transcription and summarization from in-person conversations.

The AI Companion for Workspace Reservation will also be implemented, helping employees see when coworkers will be in the office, recommending optimal days to come in, and even booking desks or Zoom Rooms as needed, with updates expected in May.

Additional Features and Enhancements

Zoom Docs will receive upgrades with advanced AI Companion capabilities, which will assist users in developing writing plans, creating data tables, and documenting internal and external references.

The new Zoom Drive will serve as a centralized repository for meeting and productivity assets such as Zoom Docs, simplifying access across Zoom Workplace. This tool is anticipated to launch in May.
