MUMBAI, India (AP) — Renowned Indian Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during a confrontation with an intruder at his residence early Thursday morning. Reports indicate that the actor, aged 54, was rushed to the hospital for surgery following the incident.

The attack occurred around 2:30 a.m. at Khan's home, located in Mumbai, which is known as the financial and entertainment hub of India. Media reports stated that Khan was injured with multiple stab wounds, two of which were reported as deep, including a significant injury near his spine. He underwent medical treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital.

Alongside Khan, a female employee in his household sustained injuries during the attack and is currently receiving treatment. Following the serious incident, police initiated an investigation to locate the intruder who fled the scene after the attack.
