Thales' Friendly Hackers Conquer DGA's AI Hacking Challenge
Thales has proudly announced a victory by its team of ethical hackers, known as the Friendly Hackers, at the Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Defense (CAID) challenge. This event marked the first DGA-organized competition of its kind and took place during the 5th installament of European Cyber Week in Rennes, which was from November 21st to 23rd, 2023.
Assessing AI Vulnerabilities
The CAID challenge was designed to measure participants' skills in exploiting weaknesses within artificial intelligence models. The competition highlighted the importance of robust AI in defense scenarios, to prevent potential exploitation by adversaries.
AI Security at the Forefront
David Sadek, Thales's vice-president of research, technology, and innovation, commented on the significance of secure AI. Sadek emphasized that while AI technology offers vast benefits for operational activities, ensuring its security against cyber threats is paramount. He further elaborated that Thales is dedicated to developing AI solutions that are not only effective but also secure for both military and civilian applications.
