OpenAI Launches Sora: A New Text-to-Video AI Tool
OpenAI has announced the rollout of a new AI model named Sora, designed to create videos directly from text prompts. This advancement opens up exciting opportunities for users to generate visual content effortlessly.
Sora was initially unveiled in February but was available only to select groups for testing. Now, it is accessible to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users under the name Sora Turbo, and this feature comes at no extra cost.
In a recent blog post, OpenAI mentioned, "We're working on tailored pricing for different types of users, which we plan to make available early next year." This indicates that there will be options designed to suit various user needs.
For those using ChatGPT Plus, the tool allows for the generation of up to 50 videos at 480p resolution each month. Users can also create fewer videos at a higher 720p resolution. On the other hand, ChatGPT Pro users enjoy significantly more privileges, including ten times the usage, access to higher video resolutions, and the ability to create longer video durations.
The videos can be made in up to 1080p resolution, with a maximum length of 20 seconds. Furthermore, users have the flexibility to choose from various aspect ratios, such as widescreen, vertical, or square formats, allowing for diverse presentation styles.
As the text-to-video landscape grows, OpenAI aims to compete with similar tools offered by major tech companies like Meta and Google. This development signifies a crucial step in the evolution of content creation.
