ChatGPT to Introduce New Video Features

OpenAI’s ChatGPT is set to enhance its capabilities by introducing a new feature that allows it to process video cues directly from a smartphone camera. This exciting development enables the chatbot to recognize objects and provide real-time feedback based on what it sees.

The feature is currently available to paid users of ChatGPT Plus and Pro, with plans to roll it out to enterprise and educational customers soon. Since its launch in 2022, ChatGPT has continuously evolved, showcasing improved performance and features.

Recent Enhancements

In a recent livestream, OpenAI presented this new functionality, demonstrating how ChatGPT can interactively assist users by analyzing content displayed on their screens or through their device’s camera. For example, a user can ask ChatGPT to help compose a response to a message in a messaging app or request guidance on completing a task by showing it what they're working on.

Last year, the developers shared that the chatbot, powered by the GPT-4 Large Language Model, achieved a high score on the SAT, outperforming over 90% of test takers.

Future Innovations

In February, OpenAI introduced a tool called ‘Sora,’ capable of creating intricate scenes with multiple characters and detailed backgrounds based on user prompts. This tool also extends existing images or videos with additional content, showcasing the expanding reach of AI technologies.

Furthermore, in July, reports emerged about OpenAI working on improving the reasoning capabilities of its AI models. This advancement, codenamed ‘Strawberry,’ aims to enhance common-sense understanding, allowing ChatGPT to better interpret and respond to user queries.

Simultaneously, researchers in Russia announced the development of an AI model named ‘Headless-AD,’ which can adapt to new tasks without further human input. This model reportedly performs five times more actions than it was originally programmed to do, highlighting the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence.

With these developments, OpenAI is poised to empower users by providing more intelligent and context-aware interactions through ChatGPT.
