Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff Invites Former OpenAI Researchers to Join Einstein AI Platform

Published November 21, 2023

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has extended an open invitation to researchers departing from OpenAI. In a post from his X account, Benioff announced that former OpenAI researchers have the opportunity to work on Salesforce's artificial intelligence platform, aptly named 'Einstein'.

Transition Opportunities for OpenAI Researchers

Benioff emphasized the prospects available at Salesforce, urging those who have left OpenAI to email him their resumes directly. This comes amidst recent upheavals within OpenAI's management.

Last Friday, OpenAI's Board of Directors stated that Sam Altman had resigned following a review process, declaring a lack of confidence in Altman's ability to continue leading OpenAI.

Reports in U.S. media have speculated that Altman might establish a new AI company or could potentially return to OpenAI, while some OpenAI employees have considered resigning if Altman is not reinstated as CEO.

The Reshuffling at OpenAI and Microsoft's Announcement

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced that Altman will join Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team. In response, OpenAI employees have demanded the resignation of the current board, threatening to leave and join Altman at Microsoft, the company's major investor.

A considerable number of OpenAI staff signed a letter addressed to the board, citing a 'lack of competency, judgment, and care' towards the company's mission and its employees, indicating an inability to collaborate with those lacking such qualities.
