Cyberspace Wing’s Summit Drives Evolution of Warfighter Communication Technologies
The 688th Cyberspace Wing A6C, a pivotal segment of the Air Force dedicated to missions in cyberspace, has co-hosted an important change management summit with the Headquarters Cyberspace Capabilities Center. This summit, which took place from December 5 to December 7, 2023, in Port San Antonio, Texas, sought to enhance the agile transition of enterprise services using innovative approaches.
Embracing Change Through Technology
Recognizing the critical role of communication in warfare, the summit gathered key stakeholders to redefine processes, documentation, and training. The focus was on harnessing the power of automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning to improve change management procedures. Greg Belleny, Services Transition Division Director of the 688th Cyberspace Wing A6C, stressed the summit’s goal to pinpoint and refine process inefficiencies with these modern technologies.
Collaboration For Rapid Advancements
The collaborative efforts during the summit showcased a unanimous determination to integrate services like Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) for accelerating service provision. Stakeholders, including the Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber), 616th Operations Center, and global units managing the Air Force Information Network’s (AFIN) excellence centers, participated both in-person and via Microsoft Teams.
Amy Miller, Change Management Branch Chief and the summit’s orchestrator, highlighted the advantages of combining physical presence with virtual collaboration. Miller pointed to the necessity of human interaction in building relationships and incorporating key players into automated systems.
Mapping Out the Future Strategy
The discussions at the summit covered a spectrum of network services affecting over 800,000 Air Force members, touching on various systems and management platforms. The venture provided a roadmap for future actions, setting sights on employing the Service Now platform for automating core services, establishing a robust configuration management database, and adopting AI-driven analytics for predictive enhancements.
Belleny underscored the summit’s significance in demonstrating the strong partnership among the 688th Cyberspace Wing, the HQ CCC, and the broader Enterprise community. With a twelve-month outlook, the expectation is a transformative improvement in the way change management services are delivered to servicemembers.
