CES 2025: Samsung Showcases Innovative AI-Driven TV Range

Published January 6, 2025

At CES 2025, Samsung has unveiled an impressive lineup of televisions that showcase advanced features and innovative technology. Among the standout products are the new AI NEO QLED 8K models, which have been designed to enhance the viewing experience so much that they eliminate the need for separation captions. Moreover, with these new AI-enabled TVs, users can effortlessly book a complete weekend getaway just by speaking to their device.

Samsung is also introducing updated Frame TVs that now come with a new engine for enhanced display capabilities. These models feature a matte, glare-free screen, allowing artwork from their expansive Art Collection to look exceptionally lifelike. The lineup includes flagship Mini LED TVs that promise remarkable viewing experiences.

The highlight of their offerings is the new S95F QD-OLED TV, which boasts the ability to produce brightness levels of up to 4,000 nits. The improved glare-free coating on this model effectively mitigates reflections from overhead lights, floor lamps, and even direct sunlight.

This latest glare-free display technology will be introduced for the first time in Samsung's Mini LED "Neo QLED" TVs, including the flagship 4K QN90F and this year's 8K models. For those who favor larger screens, Samsung has exciting news: a gigantic 115-inch version of the QN90F is also part of their new range. This 4K Neo QLED TV utilizes a newly developed 'Supersize Picture Enhancer' to improve clarity, particularly when displaying images on a big screen like 115 inches.

Samsung is committed to advancing the television experience with a new 8K AI-powered upscaling engine that transforms 4K content into 8K resolution. There is no doubt that, following the displays presented at CES, Samsung leads the consumer market in AI technology. A notable partnership with Microsoft means some of their 2025 TVs will include Copilot, unlocking capabilities previously unseen in home entertainment.

Users can interact with the new TVs by asking questions, such as setting up holiday packages after viewing a travel video. Samsung has branded these AI capabilities as Vision AI, which encompasses improved upscaling features, Auto HDR Remastering, and Adaptive Sound Pro.

In addition, a new Click to Search feature will make it easy to find information about actors on-screen, filming locations, or apparel seen in a scene, all with a single press of the AI button on the SolarCell remote. Similar to Windows AI notebooks, Samsung's TV remotes will now have a dedicated button for AI functions.

The AI technology powering these new features is similar to that found in Samsung smartphones. For viewers who enjoy international films or wish to watch content in their native languages, the new Live Translate function will offer real-time translations powered by on-device AI—an essential tool in multicultural settings.

For smart homeowners, Samsung's Vision AI can also function as a home hub, offering integration with the SmartThings ecosystem. At the CES 2025 First Look event, Samsung showcased the Neo QLED 8K QN990F, which employs the NQ8 QI Gen3 processor. This model is equipped with a suite of on-device AI features aimed at optimizing both picture and sound quality automatically, analyzing the environment and adjusting to enhance the viewing experience.

The Neo QLED 8K QN990F is set to launch in Australia in the first half of 2025, though pricing is pending. Alongside this, Samsung is expanding its Art Store and Frame Pro TV, featuring over 3,000 curated works from renowned global partners such as MoMA and the estates of artists like Magritte and Basquiat. The Frame Pro will also utilize the NQ4 Gen3 AI Processor, complemented by the Samsung Wireless One Connect box for more flexible installation options that fit seamlessly into various environments. Expect the Frame Pro to be available in Australia in early 2025, with the pricing details to be announced later.

In the projector category, Samsung has announced an ultra-short-throw (UST) projector, launching the new Premiere 5 model in Australia later this year. This model includes an interactive touch feature, enabling users to engage directly with the projected screen. Additionally, Samsung LightWARP technology allows for the projection of images onto everyday objects, creating engaging and immersive experiences.
