Apple’s First iOS 18.2 Beta Introduces New AI Features and ChatGPT Integration
Apple has launched the first developer beta of iOS 18.2, allowing developers to test a variety of new Apple Intelligence features. This update includes innovative tools such as Genmoji for generating personalized emoji and Image Playground for creating images. Alongside these, users can expect enhanced AI-driven writing tools and integration with ChatGPT. The update also introduces Visual Intelligence, enabling users of iPhone 16 to search using their camera.
With iOS 18.2, Apple expands its Apple Intelligence capabilities into more regions, aiming to make these features widely accessible. This release follows the upcoming official launch of iOS 18.1, which will introduce the first set of Apple Intelligence features, including improvements to Siri and notification summaries.
Apple initially showcased its plans for Apple Intelligence during the WWDC 2024 event in June. They revealed that these enhancements would be rolled out in phases. Among the most anticipated features is Siri's ability to comprehend the content displayed on an iPhone’s screen and respond to user requests accordingly. However, this capability will not be available in the iOS 18.2 beta.
In addition to iOS, Apple has also released the first developer beta for macOS Sequoia 15.2. This version includes new Apple Intelligence tools, although it does not feature Genmoji.
