Apple Announces Launch Date for iPhone SE 4

Published February 14, 2025

The competition in the midrange smartphone market is intensifying as Apple is set to unveil a successor to its current iPhone SE model.

On social media, CEO Tim Cook announced that February 19 will be the launch date, calling the phone “the newest member of the family.”

According to predictions from Bloomberg, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 is expected to resemble the iPhone 14, featuring a larger display and Face ID technology.

Notably, the new model will eliminate the home button, integrating Apple’s artificial intelligence capabilities and incorporating a cellular modem chip developed by Apple rather than using Qualcomm's modem.

Some of the anticipated features include a USB-C charging port, an A18 chip, and an OLED edge-to-edge screen.

Additionally, some analysts speculate that Apple might release an upgraded AirTag alongside the new iPhone, although opinions on this are varied.

Later in the year, Apple is also expected to introduce a MacBook Air with an M4 chip, as well as new low-priced iPad and M3 iPad Air models.

The competition in the midrange segment is heating up further, especially with Qualcomm's recent release of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, which provides on-device AI functionalities.

This shift is likely to benefit companies like Realme, Oppo, and Honor, who are positioned to make the most of the evolving market dynamics.
