Fire TV Users Can Now Craft AI-Generated Images with Alexa's New Feature

Published January 17, 2024

Fire TV has taken a leap into the realm of AI with a new feature that lets users create images out of thin air. Simply by speaking to Alexa, they can watch as their spoken ideas become vibrant visuals right on their screens.

A New Way to Personalize Your Screen

With the latest addition to Fire TV's capabilities, users can prompt Alexa to generate custom artwork. Whether you're after an image to serve as your TV's backdrop, save in your Amazon Photos, or just to explore your creative whims, this tool brings your imagination to visual life.

How It Works

To use this new feature, you'll need the latest Fire TV Stick 4K Max or Fire TV Omni QLED, as these are equipped with Amazon's Ambient Experience. After activating the Ambient Experience and agreeing to the AI Art public preview, creating your own AI art is as simple as asking Alexa. Users can specify the type of artwork style and even opt for a particular art movement, adding layers of personalization to the visual output.

The Technology Behind the Magic

The feature is powered by Amazon's proprietary Titan Image Generator, which synthesizes images from voice prompts. Despite still being in preview, Titan has been fed a mix of licensed data and open-source datasets to ensure a realistic turn-out of images.

Amazon is mindful of the copyright issues around AI-generated art and has taken a step to include digital watermarks on its images. While this won't guarantee commercial usage rights, it does show a careful approach to distinguish between AI and human-made art.
