Big Tech's AI Proposition Raises Concerns Over Copyright

Their argument claims that in order for the United States to stand against the Chinese Communist Party, they should be allowed to use content created by dedicated American journalists without compensating them.

In a recent communication to the federal Office of Science and Technology Policy, Open AI stated, "With a Chinese Communist Party determined to overtake us by 2030, the Trump administration’s new action plan can ensure that American-led A.I. built on democratic principles can prevail over CCP-built, autocratic, authoritarian AI." This statement raises serious ethical questions about the justification for using someone else's intellectual property.

The technology giants argue that their advancements are essential for national security, but such claims can appear self-serving and convoluted. They speak of "scaling human ingenuity" and "freedom of learning and knowledge," likening their creations to significant advancements in history, from horses to electricity to the printing press and the internet.
